3rd Annual Craig BBQ

The Craig BBQ benefiting the Craig Volunteer Fire Department was an outstanding success. Thanks to all who participated and to all who generously donated their time and hard earned dollars. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It was well attended and everybody seemed to enjoy the nicest day of our never ending cool spring. Temps in the mid 70's helped the turnout and the libations that were consumed.

All the businesses in metropolitan Craig sported BBQ's...but ours was by far the best. I can say that because Andrew and I made the Tri-Tip on your right; slow cooked, and dyn-o-mite. Andrew whipped up some sort of zippy sauce, slapped it on a bun, thinly sliced cross grain Tri-tip...and we added J the B's famous coleslaw for a culinary delight. We did not win the competition, but we certainly had the most fun...no question. Fishing is inherently fun...add BBQ for a day to remember. If you have not made it here for this event, put it on your calender for 2010. It will be the same Saturday 364 days from now. The Spring Opener for creeks coincides with this weekend...so visit us after catching a few trout on your favorite small creek!

There were 9 competitors this time around, and if you like to eat, there was certainly something for everyone. Izaak's had 2 bands play...and our good friend and guide Russ Dobryzinski entertained the early afternoon crowd for a good hour too. Thanks Russ, good show.

Thanks as well to Capt. Carp, Luke Andrews, J the B, Adair, Andrew Martineau, Peter Skidmore, B and E Ben, Scumliner, and a cast of thousands for helping Team Headhunters once again kick-ass...we do have a lot of fun here in Craig...we put the fishing back in flyfishing and the fun back in Craig. Not that it has ever left, it just needed a little nudge in the right direction.
